I got my first tattoo when I was sixteen on a Christmas trip to Arizona. I had decided on my Capricorn symbol, but I changed my mind at the last minute to a Japanese symbol on my ankle that means "soul."
Last year I decided to get two more tattoos at a local tattoo shop where I live. I got a dove done on my shoulder and a series of six baby footprints running from my right shoulder down in between my breasts. This tattoo draws a lot of attention, sometimes negative, but it is who I am and, like all my tattoos, has a great deal of meaning to me.
About a month ago, I decided to finally get my Capricorn symbol tattooed on my leg and I am very impressed with it! The Japanese symbol represents faith, the dove represents external and internal peace, the footprints represent the beauty of maternal bonding and the beauty of childhood innocence, and my Capricorn symbol is self-explanatory. I find that it is sometimes difficult to explain to people how beautiful and special my tattoos are to me, it is something that must be experienced first hand.
Although my tattoos are my favorite body
art, I also have several piercings. I got my nose pierced when I was 17
and a daith piercings last June, but my favorite piercing is my nipple
ring. I hurt like hell to get done, but I love it now, even though it hasn't
completely healed! All of my body art makes me who I am and gives
me the confidence to understand and state that fact.
